Scots are drawn to Italy to escape credit crunch

According to a recent survey by Legal & General Study revealed that nearly one in five Scots are prepared to leave the country to evade financial pressures in the UK and to escape the credit crunch. Most of the survey respondents are concerned about the rising cost of living in the UK.

Jill Rutter of the Institute for Public Policy Research stated that the UK is currently experiencing record levels of outward migration as a record number of brits are now packing their suitcases and setting up home in places such as Italy. Recent study by NatWest found that the country is rated very highly by Britons who have moved there on a permanent basis.

Many Scottish people are considering emigrating Italy for change of lifestyle as the weather and cultural attractions of Italy are also in demand. The Italian community and lifestyle is really easy to get into and makes the expats enjoy the laidback lifestyle. According to NuBricks.com, Italy has a worldwide reputation for offering exceptional food and wine. Many holidaymakers from British Isles are flocking to Italy in order to sample its delicacies first-hand.

The recent poll of British travel agents by The Network found that 15 per cent consider Italy will be this year's most sought- after holiday destination.
